Everything that we practice in yoga should bring about relaxation and thorough revitalization of the body and the mind .. let it be asana, pranayama, meditation or anything else.

Yet, a very simple but difficult asana.. Shavasana or Mritasana as it is called, is a special technique to induce stillness and calmness in us. It is the starting point from where we can fully begin to enjoy mental and physical relaxation as a normal part of our life, whether during an intense activity or sleep or whatever we get ourselves engaged into. Regular practice of this asana brings wonderful changes in life.
